The Newmarket Christmas Market

Looking for a memorable gift for that special someone on your holiday list? Or maybe several special someones you’re hoping to find just the right presents for?

Look no further than the Newmarket Christmas Market, being held Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall at 200 Doug Duncan Dr. Hosted by the Newmarket Farmers’ Market, this event is the perfect spot to start your holiday shopping, president, Cathy Bartolic, says.

Known for its diverse offerings and beautiful local products, the market is festive fun wrapped in tartan with a bow on top. From books, jewelry and home décor to body care, pet supplies and yummy treats, the Christmas market has it all. It’s also the perfect opportunity for anyone who craves quality and wants to catch the last batch of local products before winter rolls around.

“This is the last chance to stock up from farmers for the winter. Not all farmers’ market vendors are participating but there will be several there who have products that are still available or can be stored during the winter. That includes the honey vendors, Willowtree, granola from Handmade by Melisa, Dudek Farms, Perennial Petals and Holland Marsh Food Farm.”

As is typical for the season of giving and for Newmarket community spirit, the Christmas Market is also supporting the Newmarket Food Pantry by collecting donations of non-perishable food. “We have a great relationship with the food pantry,” Bartolic said. “Volunteers from the food bank pick up items from farmers on a weekly basis at the market.”
