Is there any month more jam-packed with joyful events than December? Get ready to fill your calendar with all kinds of fabulous festivities Newmarket has to offer! Here are some you may be interested in attending:

FROZEN FRIDAYS

Riverwalk Commons at 200 Doug Duncan Dr. is the coolest place to be on Friday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. On Dec. 2, 9,16, 23 and 30, there will be DJ music, ice skating, the Tim Hortons Express Train (weather permitting), hot chocolate courtesy of Hungry Brew Hops (while supplies last) and LED busker performances, LED Mega Tree shows, photo opportunities and more. Frozen Fridays, which are free, are presented by Mercedes-Benz Newmarket.

ICE LOUNGE

What pairs better with ice skating than an awesome place to sit back and relax? You and your friends and family can chill at this free gathering place at Riverwalk Commons beginning Dec. 2. The lounge is presented by Jay Miller Real Estate.

7TH ANNUAL OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW

More than 70 crafters and artisans will be at the Newmarket Community Centre, at 200 Doug Duncan Dr., on Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Presented by the Grandparent Connection, the event also features prizes, music and more.

TIM HORTONS FIRST NIGHT

Wave goodbye to 2022 and ring in 2023 with this family-friendly event on Dec. 31. The Magna Centre, at 800 Mulock Dr., is the place for all the fun, which includes free swimming and skating from noon to 3 p.m.. free Tim Hortons coffee from 5 to 6:30 p.m., a concert by Switchbeat from 5 to 6 p.m. and fireworks from 6 to 6:15 p.m.
