The shop first opened its doors in 2020, after Sherry Paymani, a mom of two, struggled to find wooden educational resources and toys for her newborn daughter (the “Rae” in Little Rae Goods). “There were so many brands I could not find in Canada or get without having to pay large shipping fees,” she says. “So, I took things into my own hands to bring amazing toys to Canadian families.”
Unlike typical toys—the plastic, noisy battery-operated kind—Little Rae Goods offers a wide selection of beautifully-crafted, plastic-free toys. No loud sirens here—just wonder and fun that hearkens back to old-fashioned playtime (no wonder parents love to visit!).
Little Rae Goods’ thoughtfully curated selection of high-quality, natural toys from wooden toy makers all over the world, including Germany, Poland, Denmark, and Australia make the store and its products extra special. Find everything from sweet matchbook mice sets (with little outfits and a tiny matchbook for a bed) to fossil kits, felt toys, and wooden puzzle sets that look like artwork.
If there’s one thing that goes with toys and moms–it’s coffee! In January 2023, Little Rae will be undergoing a renovation to create a small cafe atmosphere within the toy store. What better way to spend an afternoon than browsing (and enjoying) toys with a great cup of coffee in hand?
