Have Poodles of Fun at New‘Bark’et
Whether you’re a dog parent or just a dog lover, New‘Bark’et is the pur-fect weekend event, running from September 9th – 10th at Lions Park. Meet vendors with stalls filled with treats, toys, and accessories for your furry friend, splash around at the Pooch Plunge, watch Aqua Dogs and SuperDogs shows, and chow down on delicious food while enjoying face painting, dog caricature, and more! It’s a paw-some event with something for everyone!

Every Saturday morning from early May to late October, the market takes over Riverwalk Commons. Get your hands on the best local foods, from farm fresh produce to meats, breads, and more! Grab a bit at the food vendors, dance to the musicians on stage, have a blast while stocking up on everything you need.
Fall for the Fall for Autumn Market Showcase
Find one-of-a-kind picks and unique homemade items at the Fall for Autumn Market Showcase on September 9th at the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Club. This market will feature everything you need to refresh your home with Fall finds, décor, and accessories.
Watch the Leaves Change Colour
Newmarket is home to nearly 50 kilometres of walking and biking trails, making it the perfect place to watch the leaves transform to their gorgeous fall colours. Check out Fairy Lake, just south of Water St., for a 2.6 km stroller and bike friendly trail that loops around gorgeous trees, a pretty bridge to watch the ducks from, as well as a waterfall and fountain feature. There are covered pavilions for fall day picnics, a park for the kids and, even a hidden boardwalk path for walkers!
Enjoy a Fall Shopping Spree
As we approach Autumn, Newmarket is embracing the colder weather with an ode to Pumpkin Spice Lattes (you can find some of our favourite treats here)! Fairy Lake and Riverwalk Commons sit in the center of town next to Newmarket’s picturesque downtown, Main Street, where you’ll find an abundance of choice for independent coffee shops and bakeries. Or take a stroll to enjoy a variety of shopping and dining experiences, as well as grabbing seasonal specialties across town!
